Summer cannot be complete without a sunflower painting. To give a complimentary color vibration, the yellow sunflowers were juxtaposed in front of the purple bellflowers or balloon flowers near my front porch. A still life that is set up outdoors brings the brilliance of sunlight to the painting.
I had to paint in two sessions under similar light conditions, since the afternoon light was changing too quickly for me on the first day.
