I enjoy morning walk with friends in the neighborhood. We were walking and talking casually. When we turned around a corner, I saw this crispy light coming down between the trees making a stunning composition. I took many photos at the spot leaving my walking buddy stationary. I went back to the same spot the next day and made notes on colors and values before I painted this in the studio.

One of the fall colors in the Low country comes from Muhly grasses. They remain very plain throughout the year except for a month in the fall when they sparkle with pink feathery flowers. Pink in November? You have to come to visit me to agree with us.

When I bought these sunflowers and Eucalyptus together, I was not sure what kind of painting would emerge. But this unusual pair worked well in shapes, colors and textures! I also wanted to give a modern look with the background choice.
Even though Bluffton is a small town, we have an outstanding symphony orchestra in Hilton Head, a nearby town. This Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra has its 41st season this year. I am happy to say that my two paintings made it to their extensive program note book.
